Woodcock Johnson IV
Our assessors will be using the Woodcock Johnson IV to administer the English evaluation. The WJ V has been recently released and is currently being rolled out throughout the United States but many school systems are still administering the WJ IV. We plan to use the WJ V in starting in December 2026.
The Woodcock-Johnson® IV Tests of Achievement (WJ IV ACH) is one of the most comprehensive and respected standardized academic assessments available in the United States. It measures a student's academic skills in reading, writing, mathematics, and academic knowledge for individuals ages 4 through 90+. The assessment is used to identify learning strengths, pinpoint areas of need, guide instructional planning, and support educational decisions, including evaluations for learning disabilities, gifted services, and academic intervention planning.
A Research-Based Assessment
The WJ IV was standardized on a nationally representative sample of 5,837 individuals between the ages of 4 and 90+ years, reflecting the diversity of the United States population. The assessment was co-normed with measures of cognitive abilities and oral language, providing highly reliable and valid scores for educational decision-making.
